At the Beautiful Center for Nonviolent Action http://www.dharmasoundyoga.com
Join us at this beautiful sanctuary for a day of yoga, breathing, meditation and education. Kathleen and Jyoti will take you through several series of asana and focusing practices around the areas of fascial integrity and nervous system regulation. These are practical yet powerful methods that you can use in your everyday life. This retreat will suit all levels of experience.
Fascia, the connective tissue or fascial network is one of the larges sensory organs in the human body. With 6 to 10 times higher quantity of sensory nervous receptors than muscles, it is a system of proprioception, knowing where your body is in space. It connects our inner and outer worlds.
Our nervous system impulses control all of our bodily functions. Most people vascilate between the fight and flight response more often than is necessary which can take a toll on our health. We will explore ways to bring the nervous impulses under our conscious control, helping immensely to calm our anxiety and stress.
